Includes Weston family correspondence between Georgetown District, S.C., Charleston, New York, and elsewhere, estate papers, and property records. Includes plats, grants, deeds, indentures, and other property records and legal documents (1784-1869) of David Palmer and his family (1790s-1830s), and of the Lewis family (1780s) for land on Cypress Swamp in Marion County (S.C.), and of the Weston family. Bonds, slave mortgages, and other materials (1837-1869) of Francis Weston including letters about the purchase of J.W. Coachman's plantation. Also includes letters and accounts (1839-1860) regarding Francis Weston's rice from Hasty Point Plantation which was processed at Chisolm's Mill and Litchfield Mill, and sold by Charleston factors Robertson & Thurston, Robertson & Blacklock, and others; and an account book (1839), letters, wills, and other estate papers (1830-1847) of Paul Weston. Miscellaneous Weston family papers (1830-1867) include letters (1833-1834) of Paul to his daughter Mary J.B. Weston concerning family matters and travels in the North, Medical College of South Carolina lecture tickets (1830-1832) for Francis Weston, two slave lists (1860, n.d.), and a letter (1867) from freedman George Simons. Also includes bills and receipts (1848-1865) of Francis Weston for groceries, dry goods, wine, and other items, miscellaneous letters including one (1863) from R.F.W. Allston, and a circular (1860) about "The 1860 Association" stating the organization's purpose, and certificates. Includes genealogical notes on the Weston family.

South Carolina family. Paul Weston (d. 1837) was a plantation owner, physician, and S.C. state senator. He owned lands on the Wando River in Christ Church Parish, on the Pee Dee River, and in Charleston. His son was Francis Weston (1811-1890), a plantation owner (Prince George Parish, S.C.) and physician. Mary J.B. Weston (b. 1821) was the daughter of Paul Weston.
